Tom Brady, the former NFL star, has expressed remorse regarding how certain comedic jabs in the Netflix special "The Greatest Roast of All Time" impacted his children.

During the event, hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and streamed live on Netflix on May 5, Brady became the subject of ridicule concerning his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, his physical appearance, his two retirements, the "Deflategate" controversy, and his FTX investment, among other sensitive topics.

In an episode of "The Pivot Podcast" alongside Fred Taylor, Ryan Clark, and Channing Crowder, which aired on Tuesday, Brady acknowledged that the jokes about his divorce didn't sit well with his family.

"I enjoyed the humor when it targeted me. I found it amusing," he remarked. "However, I was displeased with the way it impacted my children."

Throughout the night, Brady and Bündchen's divorce provided ample material for the roasters, often showing Brady sipping his drink when the topic arose.

The former couple, parents to Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, jointly announced their separation in October 2022.

Brady admitted to having a moment of realization that the roast didn't unfold as expected.

"It was the bitter realization that what I thought was one thing turned out differently, and I wouldn't repeat it due to its effect on the people I cherish most in the world," he reflected.

"It's a valuable lesson for me as a parent; I'll improve as I move forward," he added. "Sometimes, you're unaware."

Brady, renowned for his illustrious 23-year career as the NFL's premier quarterback, clinched seven Super Bowl rings—six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Additionally, he boasts five Super Bowl MVP titles and three NFL MVP awards.

Initially announcing his retirement in February 2022, Brady reversed his decision and returned for one final season with the Bucs before officially retiring last year.

Concluding the roast, Brady seized the opportunity to defend himself, addressing inquiries about why he agreed to participate.

"It's straightforward," Brady asserted. "I can withstand any blow. I would have engaged sooner, but I've been preoccupied with winning championships."
