The Tigers triumphed in their five-match T20I series against a comparatively feeble Zimbabwe 4-1 and are set to depart for the USA in the early hours of Thursday, where they are slated to engage in a three-match T2OI series against the co-hosts before a solitary warm-up match concludes their preparations for the T20 World Cup.

Despite the decisive margin of victory against the Chevrons, who failed to secure qualification for the major event after succumbing to Uganda, the Tigers faced scrutiny for their lackluster performances, particularly with the bat.

"Our preparation, in my estimation, was highly commendable. We conducted a robust camp in Chattogram, followed by five encounters against Zimbabwe. Consequently, within these matches, numerous players were afforded exposure in diverse scenarios," Hathurusingha conveyed to reporters in Mirpur on Wednesday.

"While there are some reservations regarding a few individual displays, overall, I believe our preparation was effective. We derived significant benefits from it," he further articulated.

Bangladesh has recently showcased strength in their bowling department, prompting suggestions to adequately challenge their batters against a considerably weaker opponent. However, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's persistent choice to bowl first upon winning the toss drew criticism from many experts. On occasions when the Tigers were compelled to bat first, they encountered difficulties in posting totals of 165-5 and 157-6 respectively. Opener Tanzid Tamim emerged as the leading run-scorer of the series with two fifties and a total of 160 runs. Middle-order batsmen Towhid Hridoy (140 runs in five matches) and seasoned campaigner Mahmudullah Riyad (89 runs in four matches) also impressed with proactive strike rates.

"In several matches, we managed to establish a solid foundation, and even in those where we didn't, we concluded strongly. Hence, each player received opportunities to contribute in the middle order, which is a positive aspect," Hathurusingha remarked.

"Undoubtedly, certain players would have preferred more time at the crease to accumulate runs individually. However, in T20 cricket, unpredictability is inherent as it differs significantly from other formats.

"Consequently, while we strive for consistent contributions from our top order, we acknowledge the dynamic nature of T20 cricket. Nevertheless, I am confident that in the five matches preceding our inaugural game [of the T20 World Cup], we will address these areas of concern effectively."

Bangladesh, placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Nepal, is scheduled to commence their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 8 in Dallas, USA.
