Comedian Nikki Glaser kicked off the week with her memorable performance skewering Tom Brady on Netflix and will conclude it with the premiere of her latest standup special for HBO.

Her witty remarks about the former NFL quarterback garnered her a multitude of fresh followers on Instagram and an entertaining appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Yet, Glaser is embracing it all with composure. She’s been honing her craft in standup long enough to comprehend the highs and lows of the entertainment realm.

“I’ve never experienced that feeling of when will people recognize my talent? I'm not among those individuals. I've always felt like I'm earning what I'm getting. I'm not somebody who's been yearning for this my whole existence,” Glaser expressed to CNN during an interview this week. “Of course, achieving this level of adoration has been a goal, but it's also daunting because when it arrives swiftly like this, you know, this kind of fervor for someone can be fleeting and transient.”

Glaser revealed she was confident Brady’s “Greatest Roast of All Time” would resonate with audiences.

“I had a feeling it was a slam dunk and I anticipated the occasion to be remarkable because it was live,” she remarked. “I was optimistic it would top the charts on Netflix and generate viral moments, but I never anticipated being such a central part of all the discourse.”

As the roast approached, Glaser tirelessly rehearsed her Brady jokes in as many as four sets per night in Los Angeles, “hopping from one club to another.”

“With a team of writers, we'd brainstorm during the day and then we’d brainstorm in between performances, treating it as though I were hosting an awards ceremony,” she explained. “The level of seriousness I'd approach it with if I were tapped to host the Oscars, it was that significant. So, I took it very seriously.”

Glaser also approached her preparations earnestly for her new special, “Someday You’ll Die.” In it, she delves into weighty subjects such as parenthood, body image, and mortality, while assuring both long-time fans and newcomers will find ample laughter.

“It's essentially a reflection of my life at this juncture as I near 40 and witness all my peers starting families, getting hitched. I don’t have any of that,” she shared. “[The special delves into] my battles with depression, despite leading a fulfilling life, my apprehension of mortality, my occasional desire for it, interspersed with really edgy jokes.”

Glaser describes her latest work as “candid, unfiltered, incredibly polished comedy,” crafted over a span of two years.

“Someday You’ll Die” premieres on May 11 on Max, which, much like CNN, falls under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella.
