Ritu Moni and Shorifa Khatun exhibited resilience with the bat but failed to rescue the Bangladesh women's cricket team from enduring a 21-run loss against their Indian counterparts, culminating in a 5-0 thrashing for the hosts in Sylhet today.
Ritu managed a 37 off 33 deliveries while Shorifa Khatun remained unbeaten with a brisk 28 off 21 balls. Despite their contributions, the Tigresses couldn't surpass the target, concluding at 135-6 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Left-arm spinner Radha Yadav and leg-spinner Asha Sobhana secured three and two dismissals respectively for the visitors.
Previously, solid performances from Dayalan Hemalatha (37), Smriti Mandhana (33), captain Harmanpreet Kaur (30), and an unbeaten 28 off 17 balls from Richa Ghosh propelled India to a total of 156-5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khatun picked up a couple of wickets each for the hosts.
The home team had suffered defeats in the preceding four matches at the same venue.
This marks Bangladesh's ninth consecutive loss in Women's T20Is.
