Ariana Grande's account of filming the upcoming "Wicked" movie suggests she had quite a delightful experience.
“It was simply the most remarkable, life-altering, and exquisite journey I’ve ever embarked upon,” Grande shared during Vogue’s Met Gala red carpet event. “My affection for the project has only deepened; it's been a cherished passion since I was 10.”
Grande takes on the role of Glinda in the highly anticipated film, alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
They continue the tradition set by notable actors such as Idina Menzel, Michelle Williams, and Kristin Chenoweth.
Grande emphasized how collaborating with Erivo "and forming a bond with her has profoundly impacted me."
She described the venture as "joyous and profoundly meaningful," hinting that audiences will soon catch a glimpse. A teaser trailer debuted during February's Super Bowl.
Grande graced the star-studded occasion in a Jonathan Anderson gown, a delicate creation crafted from mother of pearl. She appreciated the synchronicity of its opalescent hues with the signature colors of "Wicked," pink and green.
The cinematic adaptation of the famed Broadway musical, "Wicked," unfolds as a two-part saga, serving as a prequel to "The Wizard of Oz." It delves into Oz's backstory before Dorothy's arrival, focusing on Elphaba's journey to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West amidst political intrigue.
Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, and Bowen Yang round out the cast.
"Wicked: Part 1" is slated for release on November 27, with "Wicked: Part 2" following in late 2025.
