Experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza has been named captain of the 15-man Zimbabwe squad for a five-match T20I series against Bangladesh in May. Johnathan Campbell, a debutant left-hand batsman, has earned his spot in the lineup.
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has unveiled a 15-player squad for the upcoming tour to Bangladesh, featuring a five-game T20I series in May.
The T20I series against Bangladesh is scheduled to commence on May 3. Campbell, known for his left-handed batting and leg-spin bowling skills, is set to make his international debut. Also making a return are Tadiwanashe Marumani and Faraz Akram. The squad boasts seasoned campaigners like Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, and Craig Ervine.
The rest of the team remains unchanged from Zimbabwe's recent T20I series in Sri Lanka during January 2024.
Alongside Williams and Ervine, the fast bowling department will be spearheaded by Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava, with promising talents Clive Madande and Brian Bennett providing support.
Madande, Bennett, and Campbell were integral members of the Zimbabwe emerging men's team that clinched the gold medal at the 13th African Games held in Ghana in March.
The initial three T20Is will be played in Chattogram on May 3, 5, and 7, followed by the series' conclusion in Dhaka, with matches slated for May 10 and 12.
