Turner, 27, initiated the "improper retention" case in September, shortly after the announcement of their divorce. She claimed that Jonas, 34, kept their daughters in the U.S. by withholding their passports, allegedly without her consent, aiming to prevent their return to England.
Originally, Turner's lawsuit designated their residence in London, England, as the children's "usual abode."
According to recent legal documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times, the Game of Thrones actor withdrew her accusations against Jonas on Wednesday, following an agreement on a parenting plan between the former couple.
When Turner initially filed the lawsuit, Jonas vehemently denied abducting their children. A spokesperson for Jonas stated that the singer believed he and Turner had agreed to collaborate for an amicable co-parenting arrangement. Jonas also refuted Turner's assertion that she learned of the divorce filing through media reports. About two weeks after Turner's lawsuit, the ex-couple reached a temporary custody agreement, mandating their daughters to remain in New York.
A joint statement issued by Turner and Jonas at that time hailed the agreement as "productive and successful."
"We have decided that the children will spend equal time in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK," the statement conveyed. "We look forward to being excellent co-parents."
Last week, a U.K. judge sanctioned the parenting agreement, confirming joint custody for Jonas and Turner.
Jonas filed for divorce in September, citing the irretrievable breakdown of their four-year marriage. The couple publicly disclosed their divorce through a joint statement on social media, expressing a mutual decision to end the marriage amicably.
As indicated in their divorce filing, the couple has an existing prenuptial agreement. Turner and Jonas tied the knot in 2019 after dating for approximately three years, having initially connected when Jonas messaged Turner on Instagram. In 2019, Turner revealed to Harper's Bazaar U.K. that they later met at a bar, where they felt an instant connection.
